Cessna 210
Single Engine Piston Aircraft (4 – 5 Pax)
The Cessna 210 Centurion is a high-performance, retractable-gear, single-engine, high-wing general aviation aircraft which was first flown in January 1957 and produced by Cessna until 1986. Scenic Air currently operates eight Cessna 210’s.
Please Note that the allowance of 5 passengers is only applicable to Scenic Flights, except with prior approval by Management. Maximum Weight allowance on a C210 is 400kg (which includes passenger & luggage weight).
Each passenger has a window seat.
Cessna Grand Caravan
Single Engine Turbine Aircraft (10 – 12 Pax)
The Cessna 208B Grand Caravan is a single-engined turboprop, fixed-tricycle landing gear, short-haul regional airliner and utility aircraft that is built in the United States by Cessna. The airplane typically seats twelve passengers with a single pilot, however, with limited baggage.
Scenic Air plans their flights at a block speed of 145 Knots (269 Km/hour). A flight from Windhoek to Sossusvlei typically takes one hour.
Scenic Air operates the C208B under Visual Flight Rules by day only. Crew comprises one pilot, but on request a second pilot (co-pilot) can be utilized with a corresponding reduction in payload.
The prototype first flew in December 1982. The production model was certified by the FAA in October 1984. Since then, the Caravan has undergone a number of design evolutions.
The aircraft operated by Scenic Air at present is a 1999 model and is powered by a Pratt and Whitney PT6-114A turbo-prop engine delivering 675 SHP.
Quest Kodiak 100
Single Engine Aircraft (6 – 8 Pax)
The Quest Kodiak is an American utility aircraft built by Quest Aircraft. The high-wing, unpressurized, single-engine turboprop has a fixed tricycle landing gear and is suitable for STOL operations from unimproved airfields.
